25 artists, one 1870s courthouse, and three hours of exploration await.
The New York Adventure Club second annual “UrbExpo” is a pop-up art exhibit documenting Urban Exploration subculture in present-day New York City.
The cold, gothic features of the infamous Jefferson Market Library, accentuated with dramatic lighting and strategic music will showcase how artists interpret our unique urban surroundings. Prominent artists are balanced with fresh new voices speaking through photography, videography, graffiti, traditional painting and drawing, sculpture… and everything in between.
Young artists in the show are balanced with established veterans in the field. Infiltrations, both legal and otherwise, are documented. Iconic images mix with obscure angles and subcultures in this art event like no other. It’s an art exhibition that represents a city that never sleeps, and is always humming a few tunes at one time.
Take a moment to enjoy this creative break from the norm. Bring your flashlight, an open mind, and a few dollars if you want to take home a print ($40 for 1, $100 for 3). One night only.
