Join New York Adventure Club as we visit the house of Alice Austen (1866 – 1952), one of America’s earliest and most prolific female photographers whose photography captured a changing New York City at the turn of the twentieth century.
Our experience at Clear Comfort, the Victorian Gothic cottage overlooking New York Harbor where Alice Austen lived most of her life, will include:
- A private tour through the 327-Year-Old dutch farmhouse including Alice’s darkroom
- A look at the exhibition Like Us: Primate Portraits by Robin Schwartz
- A NYAC-only look at select photographs from the Alice Austen archive
- The chance to don period-style props and pose for silhouette portraits in the house’s specially-designed photo booth
We look forward to seeing you there!
